Located at the northwestern tip of the mainland of Palawan, El Nido is a must-see place for all nature lovers. As a protected area and marine reserve, it has unique flora and fauna and is home to many endemic species: birds, turtles, dugongs, dolphins… Its scenery is spectacular, with turquoise blue lagoons, limestone cliffs, mangroves, white sandy beaches and pristine waters all around Bacuit Bay.
To explore this tropical paradise, there is nothing like the island hopping tours which, as their name suggests, take you from island to island for a day or half day. But there are many ways to explore this beautiful environment. You can enjoy water activities such as scuba diving, kayaking, or paddle boarding. Another option is to rent a car or motorcycle and stay on land to discover the waterfalls, caves and dreamy beaches of the area.
Finally, El Nido is the starting point for expeditions to Coron, which will take you off the beaten track to discover the Linapacan and Culion islands. This activity takes you away from modern civilization for a few days, to a paradise of deserted islands and untouched coral. As such, it is one of the most extraordinary experiences available in this part of Palawan. Do you feel like an adventurer and will you let yourself be tempted?
